Angkor Wat Discovery Tour
  Introduction Itinerary Accommodation Requirements


Location:
Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Duration: 1 week

Cost: 320 Euros per week - Includes airport pickup & transfer, all accommodation, food, domestic travel, 24 hour support and programme activities.

Travel: You will be met at Siem Reap airport by a project representative, and taken by bus to the temples.

Angkor Wat Temple Tour

Introduction

Get to know this amazing temple complex in the middle of the Cambodian jungle. We will take a guided tour into the ruins and spending plenty of time around the sites and with the locals. We will also visit the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, and a visit to the National Museum. This is a once in a lifetime experience, equal to climbing Macchu Pichu or the Pyramids of Giza.


Itinerary

Monday
We will start the day early arriving at our accommodation at noon. After lunch, the afternoon will be free for shopping or relaxing, and getting to know your new surroundings. We will have a group dinner in town.

Tuesday
Early in the morning, we will head off to Angkor Wat, and begin our guided adventure. There are many temples to take in, and we will start with the smaller outer temples, working our way around all the temples. After a short picnic by the lake, the rest of the day will be spent  continuuing to explore the magnificent  complex.

Wednesday
Day 2 of the trip will continue with visiting Angkor Wat, culminating with a visit to the main temple - Angkor Wat.

Thursday
This morning you will be free to decide what you want to do. Your options will include either spending another day visiting the temples, or alternatively sticking around town, shopping and relaxing. In the afternoon we will leave for Phnom Penh, arriving at our guesthouse around 4pm. We will take a walk around the Capital, exploring the Boulevard and local parks and temples. We will then have a big  well-deserved dinner in town.

Friday
After Breakfast, we will visit the Royal Palace and surrounding area. After lunch we will continue onto the Genocide Museum and 'Killing Fields' . These places tell of an important part of recent Cambodian history and the peace process that followed .

Saturday
Our penultimate day will include a visit to the National Museum in the morning where you will learn all about Cambodia's early to modern history. In the afternoon, we will have a group discussion and evaluation. The rest of the evening will be free to enjoy yourself in Phnom Penh's lively night life..

Sunday
After brunch the rest of the day will be free to travel / transfer.


Accommodation

You will be housed local guesthouses located close to the city centre of where you are.

In Siem Reap and Phnom you will find all the amenities you could need i.e. internet, shops, hospital, pharmacy, banks and restaurants. Please note that Cambodia is still a developing country and that the facilities may not be the same standard as in your home country.
The guesthouses have single gender shared dorm rooms with the number of beds ranging from 2-5. They have western style toilets, some in the room and some shared. Each bathroom has a shower and the water is always cool - nice and refreshing in the heat.
All food is included during your stay. The meals will be typical Cambodian fare, including plenty of delicious rice dishes. Vegetarians will not have a problem eating well.

In order to guarantee your place on this project, you will need to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit (paid securely via Paypal). The remaining balance must be paid upon your arrival to the project. There is NO Commission added or Placement fee required.
