Travel: You will be met at Bangkok airport by a project representative, from where you will begin your adventure!

Introduction

This week will be all about relaxing on stunning white sandy beaches and having an occasional swim the the deep blue waters, rich in marine life. Since relaxing and having a good time with your fellow participants is the main theme, the schedule will be very light and you will have more than enough time your explore this tropical paradise under your own steam.

Ko Samet is part of the Khao Laem Ya - Ko Samet National Park, and has plenty of restaurants and bungalows. However they are all built behind the tree line, preserving the beauty of beaches and coves that first attracted the first backpackers in the 1970s. The east coast is the most beautiful, with several rarely visited untouched parts. Tucked into the northeast corner is the tiny islet, Hin Khan Na. An idyllic day-stop, there's an attractive, peaceful beach ideal for swimming. Ashore you can find a few restaurants and even a bakery.

Itinerary

Sunday
We will depart very early in the morning and arrive in the afternoon on the beautiful island of Koh Samet. We will check into the resort upon arrival, and the rest of the evening you will be free to settle in. We will meet again for dinner and drinks.

Monday-Tuesday
You can use these first few days to get acquanted with your new surroundings, enjoy the beach and sea, and take short walking trips around the island.

Wednesday
We will take everyone out on a boat trip to visit the best snorkeling area's and gaze at the incredible cliffs.

Thursday
You will be free to relax, swim, read and sunbathe.

Friday
We will a have a short evaluation and group discussion in the morning to make sure everyone is happy and have enjoyed their week, the rest of the day will be free.

Saturday
Departure to Bangkok or to your next project after breakfast.

Accommodation

Accommodation is in a beach resort close to the sea in double shared twin-bed room. The doors and windows are screened (to protect you from mosquitoes). There are fans in the room and most rooms have a lockable wardrobe and drawer.

There are limited laundry facilities so expect to wash your clothes by hand. All participants are expected to be environmentally aware and to use all resources with restraint, especially water, paper and electricity. You will be expected to clean up after yourself, and to play your part to keep the accommodation neat and organized. All food is included during your stay. The meals will be typical Thai fare, including plenty of rice dishes.

In order to guarantee your place on this week, you will need to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit (paid securely via Paypal). The remaining balance must be paid upon your arrival to the project. There is NO Commission added or Placement fee required.
