2 weeks into TEFL – Teach Abroad in Costa Rica

“Thus far this experience has been amazing. I am nearing the end of my second week in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and in the Proyecto TEFL teaching program. The atmosphere is just as beautiful as the people. Everyone is kind and welcoming. I feel like I have made friends for life among the other TEFL participants and the program directors. The locals are also extremely friendly.

I taught my first TEFL class yesterday for observation and although the steps leading up to the task were not easy, the overall experience was an extremely positive one. I am enjoying learning new skills and applying them immediately to teaching. The amount of experience I have gained in the very short time is amazing.

Not only have I gained friends, education, and skills, but I have been surrounded with gorgeous sights. From the brilliant sunsets, tide pools, national park, secluded beaches, exotic wildlife, the abundance of friendly dogs, to the delicious and fresh foods, each experience has been one of a kind and absolutely breathtaking.”
