International Internship Competition & Founders Talk
Global Nomadic are pleased to announce an evening with UCL
In conjunction with the Global Brigades and the Arts & Sciences Societies, you are invited to join us for our 2-part event on 13 March at 6pm, in the BASc Common Room, 1-4 Malet Place (opposite the Roberts Engineering building).
1) Founders Talk
Jeremy Freedman, CEO & Founder of Global Nomadic will give a 15-minute talk followed by Q&A on how he founded the company whilst travelling around the world, growing the company from beaches in Bali to Jungles in Costa Rica. By joining the fledgling digital-nomad community, he became an entrepreneur on the road.
2) Presentation Competition
Next will be a series of 5-minute TED-style presentations by pre-selected UCL students. The presentations will be on either of the following topics, and the winners will receive one of the prizes below. You will vote for the winners on the evening.
What does Diversity mean for you in the 21st Century?
Is it better to volunteer abroad, or at home?
Is international travel compatible with a sustainable lifestyle?
The prizes are;
1st Prize
3 months – Business / Startup Internship in Thailand (courtesy of AIP)
2nd Prize
1 month – Human Rights & Legal Aid Internship in Tanzania (courtesy of Karibu Tanzanite)
3rd Prize
2 weeks – Sea Turtle Rehabilitation project in Costa Rica. (courtesy of Widecast)
To enter the competition, email your 1000 word article on any of the topics by Midnight on 10 March, to [email protected]. Entries will be shortlisted and 10 people will be chosen to give a 5 minute presentation.

Winners will need to arrange and pay for their own flights and visas. See the Costs tab on each project page (linked above) for exactly what is and is not included.
1st prize winner will get first choice of their desired placement and so on.
