Daily Life

Engage in an exhilarating program dedicated to the preservation and conservation of Madagascar’s rich wildlife heritage, with a particular focus on the invaluable mangrove ecosystems. The project serves as a cultural and ecotourism site, nestled alongside a pristine mangrove forest. This unique sanctuary includes a specialized training center, aimed at educating rural youth from both Nosy Be and the mainland in the art of professional organic farming.

As a participant in this conservation program, you will have the opportunity to delve into the captivating world of Nosy Be’s mangrove forest. Gain a comprehensive understanding of its unparalleled richness, various applications, and existing threats. Your journey will begin by undertaking the important task of designing an environmental teaching manual specifically tailored for children. This manual will serve as a valuable resource to foster environmental awareness and education among the younger generations.

Subsequently, you will actively engage in our community environmental education outreach program, playing a pivotal role in raising awareness among local communities and schools about the critical importance of mangroves and their sustainable management. By sharing your knowledge and passion, you will contribute to instilling a sense of responsibility and appreciation for these vital ecosystems.

Moreover, you will have hands-on experience in cultivating mangrove forest seedbeds, nurturing young plants that will be utilized for reforestation purposes. Travel and Accommodation

You will be met at Nosy Be airport and taken to the project location.

In our center, there is a dining room, a lounge area where you can hang out with fellow volunteers and a beautiful garden to relax. A balcony and large roof terrace is also available for you to spend some quality time.

There is a refrigerator which you are welcome to use to store food and beverages.
