Alaska: Husky Ranch Volunteer Project

Located in the heart of Alaska, one of the most remote and sparsely populated U.S. states, this program offers a unique opportunity to live off the grid and immerse yourself in the rugged Alaskan lifestyle. Get hands-on experience with dog care, dog sledding, and the day-to-day routines of running a traditional dog sledding ranch. Whether you’re looking for adventure, wildlife experiences, or a chance to disconnect from modern life, Alaska has it all!

On this project, you’ll work closely with the beautiful sled dogs, learning how to care for and groom them, as well as how to handle and mush them during the winter months. Although summer doesn’t offer dog sledding due to warmer temperatures, there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and exploring Alaska’s stunning landscapes. The work is physically demanding, so be prepared for an active experience, but rest assured you’ll be rewarded with unforgettable experiences. The minimum stay is 6 weeks, with the option to extend your adventure for up to 12 weeks. Daily Life

Play with the friendly sled dogs of the ranch and experience the thrill of dog sledding on snow-covered trails. Enjoy the peaceful solitude of living off the grid in a cozy cabin, fully immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. This is your chance to volunteer in one of the most picturesque and remote places in the world, where you can explore Alaska’s stunning landscapes and wildlife.

Take advantage of incredible opportunities for wildlife viewing on the property and nearby national parks, as you venture into one of the most unique and wild environments on Earth. Travel and Accom.

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and transported to our project.

Volunteers will be shared Shared back to basic cabins. 3 meals a day included during your entire stay.

Upon arrival, volunteers will attend an orientation event that includes an introduction to local culture, an overview of the volunteer experience and program details, practical information, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• Passion and enthusiasm for conservation
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Minimum 4 week commitment
• Good English skills
• Necessary vaccinations
• Necessary flight & visas
• Full travel & medical insurance. Full assistance will be provided in getting everything you will need ready if you choose our Placement Support Package.
