Iceland: Environment and Climate Change Project

Introduction

Join us in beautiful Iceland and play an active role in protecting the environment while raising awareness about sustainability. As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside other international volunteers to tackle the pressing issue of global warming, all while experiencing the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland.

Located at the crossroads of Iceland’s West, South, and North, this project offers a unique opportunity to blend environmental action with intercultural learning. The project’s primary aim is to improve education and raise awareness about environmental issues. You’ll participate in a variety of hands-on tasks, including beach cleanups, tree planting, organizing climate change workshops, conducting research, and engaging in creative projects like artwork focused on sustainability.

Throughout your volunteer experience, you’ll have the chance to explore Iceland’s iconic natural wonders and landmarks, making your time both impactful and memorable. Whether you’re planting trees, cleaning beaches, or contributing to community workshops, your efforts will directly support environmental conservation. The minimum commitment is four weeks, and the project runs from February to November. Daily Life

Join a passionate team focused on learning and researching global warming, and take part in a meaningful initiative to raise awareness about environmental challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity to improve education on key issues like green energy, sustainable living, waste management, and carbon footprint reduction, while contributing to the fight against climate change.

Through various workshops, group discussions, and hands-on activities, you will deepen your understanding of these critical topics and help spread knowledge to others. Additionally, you will have the chance to explore Iceland’s stunning natural wonders, from glaciers and waterfalls to geothermal hotspots, making your experience both educational and memorable. Get involved in the global movement for sustainability while immersing yourself in one of the most environmentally conscious countries in the world!

Travel and Accom.

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and transported to our project.

Volunteers will be accommodated at a sustainable house at the project site. The house includes shared washroom facilities. It has double rooms, triple rooms, and quadruple rooms, two kitchens, several bathrooms, and common areas, rooms for workshops, and galleries.

Upon arrival, volunteers will attend an orientation event that includes an introduction to local culture, an overview of the volunteer experience and program details, practical information, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum age 18
• Passion and enthusiasm for conservation
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Minimum 2 weeks commitment
• Good English skills
• Necessary vaccinations
• Necessary flight & visas
