Costs Explained

Introduction

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean while making a meaningful contribution to its conservation. Our Marine Conservation program offers a unique opportunity for ocean lovers to participate in various initiatives aimed at protecting the marine ecosystem along the South Coast of Portugal.

Working in collaboration with a diving school that prioritizes environmental preservation, volunteers engage in underwater clean-up efforts to remove trash from the sea floor. Beyond diving, participants receive comprehensive education on marine ecology and conservation practices. They also play an essential role in community outreach, raising awareness about marine preservation and biodiversity among local residents.

No prior diving experience is necessary to join the program. We offer certifications and courses tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced divers. Under the supervision of experienced divers, volunteers undergo thorough training in marine conservation techniques.

Our shared goal is clear: to safeguard our oceans and pave the way for a brighter future. Join us in our mission to clean and protect the ocean, one dive at a time.

Daily Life

Upon completing the initial orientation in Lisbon, you’ll join other volunteers in Cascais for the remainder of your program. Here’s what a typical weekday looks like:

8:00-09:00 am: Enjoy breakfast at the volunteer house.
9:00-12:30 am: Begin your day with the first dive, focusing on learning the fundamentals. As you gain confidence, you’ll transition to diving in the ocean.
1:30-2:00 pm: Take the train back to the volunteer house.
2:00-2:30 pm: Lunchtime.
2:30-7:00 pm: Spend the afternoon relaxing, exploring the city, practicing Portuguese, or engaging in additional dives, depending on your certifications and interests. Your instructor will provide guidance on activities for the day.
7:30-

9:00 PM: Gather for dinner at the volunteer accommodation, enjoying meals with fellow volunteers.

Please note that this schedule may vary based on your track, weather conditions, and progress in the program. Adjustments will be made accordingly to ensure a fulfilling and safe experience.
