Introduction

Join our impactful international volunteer program in Barcelona, Spain, designed for passionate individuals who want to support and connect with immigrants and refugees through the universal languages of food and English. Our program collaborates with local organizations dedicated to fostering the integration, autonomy, and well-being of newcomers to the city.
Spain has witnessed a significant influx of immigrants seeking protection from war or poverty. These vulnerable individuals face challenges adapting to their new environment and often lack the necessary skills for integration. In response, Barcelona has established various initiatives to help immigrants build social networks, learn languages, and access essential resources.

Daily Life

As a volunteer, you’ll engage with 18 to 25-year-old refugees and immigrants at the local host center in an informal, supportive environment. Your role will be focused on promoting socialization through shared interests in cooking, eating, and English language learning.
Your daily tasks will include:
  • Preparing, cooking, and distributing meals for the guests at the host center.
  • Teaching English in an informal, conversational manner to equip immigrants with valuable language skills for their future.
Don’t miss this opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of immigrants and refugees, while experiencing the vibrant culture of Barcelona!

Travel and Accom.

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and transported to our project.

Volunteers will be accommodated in dormitories at a centrally located youth hostel. The dormitories are available in female-only or mixed-gender options and feature private bathrooms shared with other occupants in the room.

The hostel provides various amenities, including a bar area, a comfortable sitting area, and a communal kitchen for those who prefer to cook their meals. Additionally, some rooms offer balconies for relaxation, and the rooftop boasts stunning views of the Acropolis, providing a serene environment to unwind after a day of volunteering.

You will enjoy three meals a day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—provided at the hostel. The menu features local cuisine prepared in Greek style, offering a delightful mix of meat, fish, and fresh vegetables.

Upon arrival, volunteers will attend an orientation event that includes an introduction to Spanish culture, an overview of the volunteer experience and program details, practical information, and safety guidelines.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in a guided city tour, receiving insider tips to help them discover the best of what the city has to offer.
