- For this particular program, the aims and objectives fall under the jurisdiction of the Thai government. In recent years, the government has placed a continued emphasis on the teaching of the English language. Despite this, English literacy rates in Thailand remain one of the lowest in Asia.
- Our aim is to continue to improve the children’s prospects by teaching them English. On the other hand, you will also gain teaching experience, an invaluable life skill!
Introduction
Give back to the local Thai community and spend time with local students as you teach English in schools in and around Hua Hin. And enjoy the beach too!
Teach youngsters in local schools in the morning and have a blast on the beach in the afternoon. This is a chance to do good and feel good at the same time. You will help students to broaden their minds and have a cultural exchange as you teach English and assist local staff with your own creative ideas, songs, games, and other fun activities.
Daily Life
This program consists of working with students in various schools teaching English. We have strong relationships with several child development centers, kindergarten, primary and secondary schools and the age of the students may be anywhere between 2.5 and 18.
Many of the schools are open to new concepts and approaches to teaching. This means that you may be able to share your new ideas and teaching strategies that might complement the local Thai teaching methods or style.
Our teaching program serves a dual purpose: of course, it is meant to help children in rural Thailand to have a chance to speak more English (usually even their teachers are not fluent speakers).
Secondly, it will give you an insight into the Thai education system, as well as a good chance to develop friendships with students and teachers.
You will leave the centre between 08:30 and 09:30 depending on the school. Expect to teach for 2-3 hours. Lunch will usually be served at the school and you will leave school each day after the morning session.
The school shows respect to the King of Thailand through a ceremony daily and you might be asked to take part in this unique morning ritual.
Please take note of the long holidays (mid-March till mid-May and October) as well as public holidays. During such times you can join special classes and English camps that are regularly requested by the local community. In the event that the need in this time is at the local child development centre, please keep in mind that you will be working with young children who will require a much different approach than primary or secondary school. Please use your creative skills through song, dance, games, and repetition to help young children to learn and enjoy their introduction to basic educational concepts.

All the meals served inside the accommodation are homestyle, vegetarian-friendly and you can expect that they will be typically Thai, including plenty of rice or noodle dishes with vegetables and occasionally some meat will be provided as well, along with seasonal fruits for dessert.
While we do our best to accommodate our participants, what we provide for most meals is local cuisine. If you are a picky eater, have dietary restrictions, or if you think that you will not be satisfied with the local dishes provided, you might want to consider supplementing our menu with your own western type foods and snacks that are more to your liking.
